JSO Program
Safehouse is licensed by the Ohio Department of Youth Services to work with problematic sexual behaviors in both male and females. These youth typically have a multitude of behavioral, mental, emotional, and physical problems, in addition to sexually offensive behaviors, most of them being a direct correlation to traumatic childhood experiences. They do not need to be adjudicated for their sexual crimes, and do not need to be on probation. Safehouse utilizes the Pathways curriculum for boys and the Growing Beyond curriculum for girls.
Each youth will develop a relapse prevention plan through individual therapy sessions. The youth are thoroughly involved throughout this process. Together with the youth, we will develop and agree upon a treatment contract. The contract specifies his or her commitment to treatment services and recovery. All probation/parole officers, guardians, caseworkers, parents, counselors and case managers are included in the treatment plan.
